Summer of Love Part 1: Webinar Recording

The new features for the LinkTrust Summer of Love have been making affiliates happy for the last few days.

We’ve heard great response about all of the features, especially the Affiliate Pixel Testing capability now available.

If you’ve gotten to try the new features we’d love to hear what you think!

If you missed the webinar on May 31 we recorded it so you can watch it now!

We had a few questions for clarification about a few of the features during the webinar. We always appreciate questions and these ones are especially helpful so we’re including the Questions and Answers below the video of the webinar.

Questions and Answers from the Webinar

Affiliate Pixel Testing:
Q. Does the new Affiliate Pixel Testing work to test the LinkTrust conversion pixel?
A. Yes and No. The Pixel Testing tool helps to test your affiliate’s pixel. In order for the affiliate’s pixel to fire, it must fire the LT confirmation pixel first. So, if the affiliate’s pixel fires successfully, then the LinkTrust confirmation pixel worked!

If you intend to test that the LinkTrust confirmation pixel has been properly placed by the Merchant, then NO, the Pixel Testing tool won’t help there. In order to test your LinkTrust confirmation pixel with the merchant, you will need to give a LinkTrust Test URL to the merchant or test yourself by actually completing the offer on your merchant’s website.

Q. Can you test the affiliate pixel on all offers? Some competitor’s affiliate pixel test won’t allow you to work with a credit card confirmation – will LinkTrust do that?
A. The beauty of the Pixel testing tool is that you don’t have to go through the merchant’s offer to use it. This will save you a bunch of time. No more testing with a credit card, by downloading an application or filling out a lead. It’s important to know that this doesn’t replace testing the offer with the merchant before you open the offer to affiliates.

Q. Will this work on all pixel types?
A. Yes. This will work for all affiliate pixels as well as any additional code.

Q. I have an affiliate that doesn’t allow what they call ghost pixel firing. Is that what this new feature is considered? Specifically will the affiliate be able to tell I didn’t test the pixel organically?
A. I’m not sure what your affiliate defines as “Ghost Pixel Firing”. The only difference the affiliate will see when testing a Pixel with this tool is:
1) The Page Referrer contains LinkTrust.com
2) The IP address for the click and conversion will be your own.

Q. Does the Click to Conversion filter affect the Pixel Testing tool?
A. The Pixel Testing tool bypasses all Conversion Fraud Control filters.

Request an offer from another source:
Q. Any way you can have this appear for only certain groups of affiliates?
A. Yes, you can accomplish this with some JavaScript coding within your Affiliate Center template. By passing the affiliate’s group ID or name to a script, you can code the page to hide or display this feature based on the affiliate’s group. If you need help with this, please contact support.

Additional Affiliate Pixels and Code
Q. Will this work for all types of pixels? Does it only work if the network has JavaScript placed with the merchant?
A. The Additional Affiliate Pixel and Code feature is only available when a JavaScript pixel has been placed by the merchant on the confirmation page.
